Lets Play Nimby Rails Pt 2 The Underground

Since Last Time

This is part two of a let’s play blog for Nimby Rail. Part 1 can be read here.

Since the last blog, I have created a new line between the City of London and the City of Westminster. The game has estimated that the travel time for the line is just over 10 minutes, so I have purchased one train for the line, and we will see how it works out.

I also built a second line connecting London Kings Cross to London Paddington. The estimated time for the line was calculated as being just over 12 minutes. I think this is too long for just one train. We need to buy two trains for this line and set the minimum gap between trains to 10 minutes.

When running more than one train on a line setting the minimum gap allows you to control the minimum distance between trains on the same line. Trains running too close together will reduce profits. The second train I added to the Paddington – Kings Cross line will wait in the station until the ten minute counter hits zero.

Taking Out A New Loan

The three underground lines we have built so far were expensive. Of the billion dollars at the start of the game, we have 87 million left. Fortunately, we can take out another loan.

Clicking on the $ symbol in the top right of the screen shows the economic status of your company. The info tab shows your current loan and how many loans you currently have, and as you can see, we currently have one loan. The billion dollars we originally started with.

We need to take out another large loan to continue the expansion of our network. The biggest loan we can take is three billion dollars. We will look to repay the loan over the maximum term of ten years.
