Introductory guide to Notion Database Sort

In this introductory guide, I will explain what data sorting is and then take you through the process of sorting data in a Notion database.

What is a data sort?

A data sort puts the data into some kind of order, which is defined by the type of data it is applied to.

For Example. Text will usually be sorted into alphabetical order, numbers into numerical order.

The order of the sort can also be specified. Ascending order goes from the lowest value to the highest; for example, 123456789 is an ascending order sort.

Descending sort is from the highest values first; using the same example as before, the numbers would be listed 987654321.
