What is Football Manager 2022

Football Manager 2022 is the latest game released in a long series of games that simulates life as a professional football manager. It’s a game that allows football fans like myself to manage a football club. To experience the joy and pressure of managing a football team.

During the course of the game, you will pick your team and determine the team’s formation and playing side. Will your team be known for their pressing as you play with a Gurgenpress, or will your team be known for your passing tiki-taka style?

Over time, you will look to strengthen your squad by selling and buying players on the transfer market. You will also look to bring the next Mesi through your club youth system as the game generates new players over time.

You will need to manage your squad of players, keeping them happy as unhappy players could cause your squad to become disillusioned with you. This will likely cause your team performance to drop during matches.

You will also be dealing with the board who have their own set of objectives that they expect you to deliver. This can impact your strategy. For example, the Liverpool board at the start of the game expects you to sign players below 23.

On top of all this, you will also be expected to deal with the press in regular press conferences and touchline interviews at the start or end of most games. These interviews can impact your relationship with your players and even other managers.

What is new in Football Manager 2022

The first fundamental difference between Football Manager 2022 and Football Manager 2021 is the new game engine. The animation in Football Manager 2022 is a lot smoother, and the movement of the players and the ball seems a lot more realistic.

More meetings have been added to the game and scouting meetings when the transfer market is open.

Football Manager 2022 has introduced weekly coaching meetings. You don’t need to attend. If you decide not to go to the game, I will send you a weekly coaching summary notification that you can take action on. I like these meetings as it adds to the game immersion for me.

Football Manager 2022 has also made transfer deadline day a more significant part of the game to capture the media excitement that has developed around transfer deadlines in recent years. During the last few hours of transfer day. The game will only skip an hour on each turn you can read.

  • Latest gossip news
  • Receive approaches from teams looking to sign your players
  • Approaches from players or player agents looking for a move

However, I have found that Football Manager 2022 is slower to play, not for system reasons but due to the game’s depth. I don’t think it is an issue at the moment, but it is something to be mindful of, especially if you want to see your squad and team grow over time.
