Cron first thoughts

I have been testing Cron for a couple of months, and it is still in closed beta development. I have decided not to write a full review of the application but my first impressions. You can sign up for the Cron closed beta here.

So what is Cron?

Cron is a calendar application which currently only offers synchronisation with Google calendar enabling access to Google calendar via a desktop application. As you would expect, Cron allows you to create, edit and delete appointments on your calendar.

You can create repeatable events in your calendar with Cron, but unfortunately, you can’t currently set a time when these repeated events will end. As the application is still in closed beta, I wouldn’t mark this failure too heavily as the application is still being developed.

Cron User experience

I like the design of Cron and find it easy and enjoyable to use, and I haven’t seen any actual bugs.

Conclusion

I will continue using Cron as my daily calendar and hope that Notion, who took over Cron in 2022, will continue developing the application.

Just as I was about to publish this article I saw this Tweet from Cron on Twitter. I will aim to write a review once Cron has come out of its Beta development phase

There does seem to be a lot of synergy between Cron and Notion. I imagine a time when you can take a task from your Notion task database and drag it across into your Google calendar in Cron.

Can I recommend our review of the Morgen task manager and calendar app?
