From 1 June 2021, the storage of original quality photos will no longer be free with Google Photos. Amazon provides an alternative service Amazon Photos which includes free online storage of photos for Amazon Prime members. Is it really worth switching and if so what do you need to do to prepare?

Conclusion
We have been using the Amazon photo app for around a month soo why don’t you read my review. I have also now written a review of Google photos.
If your main motivation for making the switch is cost then Amazon Photos is unlikely to be the alternative for you unless you have an Amazon Prime account. I’m currently trialing Amazon Photo and will look to publish a reivew within the next few weeks. If you currently use Amazon Photos what do you think?
With hindsight, I wish that I had written the reviews first. As at the time of writing I did think Amazon photos was an option for those of us with an Amazon Prime subscription.
Then I wrote my Amazon Prime photos and apart from a couple of nice features such as the family vault which allowed photos to be shared with up to 6 other people I was very disappointed.
I would now recommend that you stick with Google photos.
