Amazon Music V Tidal

Today I’m considering the best music streaming app between Tidal and Amazon Music. I’m currently using Amazon music after my recent experiences with using Tidal. Find out why?

Price comparison between Amazon Music and Tidal

The first thing I’m going to compare is price.

Tidal offers two price plans consisting of either HiFi or HiFi Plus. HiFi plan provides music streaming at CD quality, while HiFi plus offers CD quality and better streaming and Atmos and Sony 360 reality audio playback on supported tracks. You can find full details and pricing plans on the Tidal pricing page.

While Amazon Music has one tier for unlimited access with a discount for Amazon Prime subscribers, you can find information on current prices here.

Sound quality between Amazon Music and Tidal

For this section, I will compare the Tidal HiFi plus plan with Amazon music as both have high-quality streaming support, and I think Tidal is slightly better, but there really isn’t much in it.

Music discovery between Amazon Music and Tidal

Tidal is better at music discovery. Amazon music is, in my opinion, very average in this department.

If I were to ever advise Amazon on how they could improve their musical streaming service, I would suggest that they look at how Spotify and Tidal help their users find new music. But you can learn to live with it, and I have discovered new music on Amazon Music.

User experience between Amazon Music and Tidal

I prefer the Tidal user interface as I find it cleaner and easier to navigate than Amazon music user Interface. The Amazon Music Interface encourages you to buy stuff, which I suppose isn’t that surprising, seeing as it is Amazon, but it would be nice if it weren’t in your face all the time.

What let Tidal down for me was the issue with not being able to listen to music at low-quality streams unless I reset the computer, and I haven’t had any such problem with Amazon music.

Conclusion

For many people, Amazon Music is the better option because the lower price gives you access to high-quality music streaming that is almost as good as Tidal.

For me, the big difference is in the user experience, as Amazon music works for me, and Tidal music doesn’t always work.

You can find out a wider comparison between all the music streaming services that I tested in 2022.
