Introductory guide to Obsidian search tools

In this guide, I will take you through the search tools provided by Obsidian to help you find notes within an Obsidian vault.

Obsidian search

The Obsidian search tool icon is a magnifying glass. Clicking on it opens the Obsidian search function.

1. Click on the magnifying glass on the top left of the Obsidian window
2. Type in the string you are looking for
3. The search pane will show every note in your vault that matches your string.
4. Scroll down through the results until you find what you are looking for.

Conclusion

You should now be able to use the Obsidian search tool to search your Obsidian notes.

While you can use the Obsidian search, it isn’t the most efficient means of finding specific notes, which you can find via the Obsidian quick searcher. I will write a guide and link to it from here.
