Mem exporting Markdown

Today I’m looking at the ability to export your notes from Mem using Markdown. It is new functionality, and I had to try it out.

In this guide, I’ll walk you through the process of exporting your notes from Mem into a Markdown text file which you can then import to other note-taken applications such as Notion or Obsidian.

How to Export notes from Mem as Markdown

The following steps will take you through the process of exporting your notes from Mem as a text file using the Markdown format, which can be imported into other note-taking applications such as Obsidian and Notion.

  1. Open the Mem application.
  2. Select the export type as Markdown.
  3. Click the export button.

A link to the Markdown file will be sent to your registered email once the exported note has been created. The export is one file containing all of your notes.

Conclusion

As part of my testing, I copied the file exported from Mem into my Obsidian vault, and I was very impressed by how well the exported file was displayed in Markdown.

If I had been looking to import my notes, I would have had some work to do if I wanted to split the original notes into separate notes. But it wouldn’t be too much work.

Well done, Mem, and it is another reason you can consider using Mem for taking notes.
